BIRTH WORKS ®
 PRENATAL
CLASSES
Birth Works ® is a process
which builds confidence that birth, indeed
works. It recognizes that there is no one right
way to labor and birth. Birth Works ® does not teach breathing patterns,
but instead encourages slow, deep breathing
as one of many ways to promote relaxation and
ease labor.
Parents are encouraged to take
Birth Works (®in superscript) early in
pregnancy, or even prior to pregnancy, as this
is an optimal time for identifying and exploring
beliefs about birth, interviewing caregivers,
and choosing a birthplace that feels safe.
The classes are innovative, interactive and
experiential.
These are just a few
of the ways we uniquely prepare our clients
for childbirth.
Class Topics:
• Understanding and working with the
pain of labor
• Making informed choices regarding medical
interventions
• Relaxation, pelvic awareness and bodywork
• Nutrition, exercise and postpartum
wellness
• Labor companionship and comfort measures
• How our beliefs and attitudes affect
our experience of birth
• Healing past emotional pain in preparation
for birth
• Options for your birth and birth planning
• Breastfeeding and postpartum
