Nurturing assistance during your birthing process (Doula comes from Greek, meaning hand-maiden). A doula supports women and families through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

Throughout history in all cultures, experienced women have sat by those who are in the birthing process. The mere presence of a nurturing and caring person, at one’s birth, brings forth a mood of confidence.

She comforts and soothes, reassures and informs with her knowledge and experiences, she creates a safe atmosphere around the birth.

She is a special asset to the father who is freed to immerse himself in a very emotional and rewarding experience.

Studies have shown that, with a doula:

• The duration of the birth process is decreased by as much as 25%
• Cesarean surgery rates is reduced by 50%
  Requests for pain medications is reduced by 60%
